Meet Dr. Michael Cohen
Dr. Cohen has been practicing medicine for 20 years. He has the training to provide his patients with the most modern and cutting edge treatments available, and the experience to understand each patient’s individual needs.
Dr. Cohen began his medical career in 2005 after completing his residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. While at Cooper, he completed a 6 month elective with nutrition expert and author, Dr. Joel Fuhrman.
After Residency, he joined Fairmount Behavioral health in Roxborough Pennsylvania and was promoted to Medical director of the Chemical dependency services department.
While at Fairmount, Dr. Cohen started the suboxone detoxification program there. Dr. Cohen left Fairmount to practice at Bryn Mawr Hospital, part of Main Line Health in 2012.
While at Bryn Mawr, Dr. Cohen completed an ECT fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and piloted the ECT program at Bryn Mawr before becoming the Medical Director of the inpatient unit there.
Also during his time at Bryn Mawr, Dr. Cohen served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, and trained all of the medical students and resident doctors in training.
Dr. Cohen began his outpatient private practice while working at Bryn Mawr Hospital beginning in 2018, and his practice grew by word of mouth. With the onset of COVID, he initially transitioned to seeing patients virtually. His practice has grown and continued as a hybrid model after moving to Florida in 2022. Currently, Doctor Cohen sees Pennsylvania patients virtually and sees Florida patients either virtually or in-person in offices in West Palm Beach.
Dr. Cohen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has extensive experience treating a wide variety of disorders, from anxiety and depression to bipolar and other mood disorders, personality disorders and addiction.
